A little studio with a big, open heart

Lotus began as a quiet idea: that everyone deserves a calm place to breathe, move, and feel at home in their own body. More than a decade later, that idea is still our compass.

Our story

From a borrowed room to a beloved studio

Lotus opened in 2014 in a sunlit room above a corner bakery, with eight secondhand mats and a handful of curious neighbors. Our founder, Priya, simply wanted to share the practice that had carried her through a difficult year β€” quietly, without ego or pressure.

Word spread the way good things do: gently, by people who felt better when they left than when they arrived. Today we practice in a beautiful, naturally lit space on Willow Lane, with a growing community and a roster of teachers who share one belief β€” that yoga is for everybody, exactly as they are.

We've kept the warmth of that first little room. You'll still be greeted by name, still find tea waiting, and still feel like you belong from your very first breath.

Our philosophy

Movement as a practice of kindness

We believe yoga isn't about touching your toes or holding a perfect pose. It's about turning inward with curiosity and compassion β€” listening to your body and honoring what it needs that day.

Every body is a yoga body

No flexibility, fitness level, or experience required β€” just willingness to begin.

Rest is part of the practice

Child's pose is always available. Slowing down is never falling behind.

Community over competition

We celebrate effort, not achievement. The mat beside you is a friend, not a mirror.

What we value

The quiet principles that guide us

More than poses, these are the things we promise to bring to every class you take with us.

Inclusivity

Every age, shape, ability, and background is welcome here. The mat makes room for all of us.

Mindful presence

We protect this space as a refuge from the noise β€” phones down, shoulders soft, fully here.

Care for the earth

Eco props, refillable water, and a plastic-free studio. Calm bodies, kinder planet.

Non-judgment

No competition, no comparison. Your practice is yours alone, and it's always enough.

Lifelong learning

Our teachers keep growing too, training continually so your practice keeps deepening.

Genuine community

Workshops, tea after class, and friendships that reach far beyond the studio walls.
